Privacy Policy
Hey there! Ever checked a box that said "I have read and agree to the terms and conditions and privacy policy" without actually reading them?
We get it. We're not saying we sponsor such an idea, but when companies create 30-page long documents written up by lawyers with tons of fancy words and extremely boring "content" (if you can call it that...), it's not hard to see why people do it.
That's why we've worked hard to make ours short, simple, and to the point. So if you care about your privacy, please consider reading this one for once. We know what being a customer is like!
Privacy Policy Last Revised: 10/6/2022
Part 1: Who we are
We are yours truly (also written Yours Truli/YoursTruli). We're a firm designed around designing and bringing things to life: with a variety to what those things we're designing or bringing to life might be! Our site's located right here on yourstru.li, and we've been around since 2022. I guess that makes us young... for now. Our goal as a firm is those exciting things above, not data collection. When it comes to these types of matters, we're based out of the US.
Part 2: What data we collect
Since we run an online firm, there's certain data we have to collect in order to operate our business and make some dreams come true. That data can include the following:
• IP Addresses & Browser/Device Info (ex: what web browser or OS you're using)
• Email Addresses
• Names (if/when provided)
• Phone numbers (if/when provided)
• Messages/communications (i.e. contact messages directly with us)
• Comments/reviews/testimonials (made on our site or other services)
• Account info (username, profile picture, etc.)
• Preferences (such as your language preference)
Due to the nature of our services, we also utilize payment information, but the bulk of this usually goes via third-party payment processors. We still might come into contact with payment data though, like payment amounts and your billing address(es) and name.
To put those things into context, see part 3 regarding when we collect these kinds of data.
Part 3: When we collect data
We try to avoid collecting data when it isn't necessary, but when it is necessary, we collect data like in the following circumstances:
• when people reach out to us via contact forms, or via social media
• when people sign up for one of our services or to learn more about our services
• when people sign a contract with us
• when people are communicating with us prior to a project
• when people keep in contact with us while we're working on a project of theirs, and if they want, after
• when people sign up for/maintain an account on our site
• when people comment on our site
We also technically collect data whenever someone visits the site at all for metrics purposes (such as knowing what countries most people are visiting our site from, which is common practice online), but the majority of that is generally aggregated data that we don't try to connect to you specifically.
Part 4: Data Security, and Your Data Rights
Because we try to avoid collecting data when it isn't necessary, we try not to hold on to too much data to begin with. But naturally, some data is still going to get held onto for our business to function.
As you can probably see by going to the Address Bar on your browser, our site is encrypted via SSL. When we operate via other services, their services sites' are usually encrypted via SSL as well. Any online payments/monetary transactions that take place regarding our services take place via third-party payment processors, who each have their own TOS's and Privacy Policies regarding your data. We do our best to use services that have good track records of keeping your payment data secure.
We don't give your data to anyone else, except if you consider us working for you when you request our services via other sites (freelancer sites, etc.) "giving your data to someone else", or in the sense of payment processors, or that visitor interactions like comments may be checked through spam detection services for everyone's safety. Note that "embedded content" like YouTube Videos work in a way where you essentially are visiting the other (ex: YouTube) site as well, and therefore we don't/generally can't control what they'll collect. Unfortunately, welcome to the internet on that one!
Different jurisdictions have different laws regarding data rights. In general, we delete messages/communications 1 year after our service is rendered complete, and hold on to other data for up to 2 years if we think it might be helpful to you. Comments, account info and such are usually kept on our site indefinitely unless you request their deletion, and if they're on another site, that could depend on that site's own policies. "Cookies" are set on your own device if you accept them, for things like saving your account info on your device or your dark-mode preferences, and can be deleted by you from your own device. If you want us to delete any data we have regarding you, you can simply email us at privacy@yourstru.li and we'll do our best to get on it in a timely manner and let you know when it's done! We might be obliged to temporarily keep some information for administrative, legal, or security purposes (such as to keep us both safe), pending the laws in your jurisdiction, and if we would, we let you know that on such a request.
See, was that so hard? Now you can say you did your reading for the day!
